It's clobberin' time!
Next to MLB's Opening Day, there ain't another yearly event I await with more enthusiasm than the first puck dropped at a Nashville Predators game. Two things worth mentioning 'bout this years' Preds: First, they have a new "third" sweater (hockey non-purists call 'em "jerseys") ...
Second, the Preds and Atlanta Thrashers will meet for a preseason contest this Thursday at the Sommet Center, and there ain't no charge to get in. Tix will be available at the Sommet Center box starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Get there early and you just might see yours truly.
Now, back to that third sweater (which was unveiled at Taylor Swift's recent Nashville concert). I like it, but ...
I like the lace-up and the retro coloring and numbering (even if it is very Maple Leafs-like), but Preds brass could've been more original than just slapping the existing Preds logo on the thing. Indeed, I can only imagine how impressive the new sweater would look if it was bedecked with logo similar to that which appeared on the Preds' much-maligned "mustard" third sweater.
